Ana Harris from UX Designer 21 created a nice infographic showing the difference between an UX designer and an UI designer. Although you could say the difference is marginal as there is just one letter to change 😉 But in practice the UX designer’s job is very much a different one than that of a UI designer. For example will a UX designer focus more on task flows and scenarios and the UI designer look at colors and typo. The UX designers tools are wireframes, prototypes and research in general, where the UI designer creates mockups and graphics in Photoshop and is working on the layout.
Ana presents this differences nicely, the only thing I found a bit disturbing was the way the UX Designer is dressed. Seems to me a bit nerdy and scientific 😉 Check out also her other stuff at uxdesigner21.com.
